Title I

Highlands Elementary is a Title I school. This classification is based on the number of students receiving free/ reduced meals at school. We receive funding to support student learning and to promote family involvement. You will receive Highlands newsletters and flyers throughout the year announcing special evening events and other opportunities for involvement. You are always welcome to contact your child's teacher, Mrs. Nelson, our counselor and family support contact, to discuss the many ways you can be involved.

Dear Families,

Florida's School Public Accountability Report (SPAR) Availability

As a requirement of federal No Child Left Behind legislation, Florida's School Public Accountability Reports (SPAR's) are published at the beginning of the school year. These reports measure the educational progress of schools, school districts, and the state.  These reports include information on student academic achievement, professional qualifications of teachers and staff, and school safety and environment. Such information helps measure the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for individual schools, school districts, and the state. The SPAR for Seminole County Public School District schools can be accessed at the Florida Department of Education website:

http://schoolgrades.fldoe.org/

Printed copies of  SPAR are also available for viewing at local schools and can be sent to interested parties by the schools upon request.
