HLES Cross Country/Runner Club
Grades K-5 can run cross country twice a week before school. They get to participate in county wide meets about 4 times a school year. Every age group has a specified distance they run.
HLNNews Crew
Student from 4-5th grade produce and run a Morning news show every day here at Highlands.They features news stories about school events and classroom happenings.
Leadership Roles
All students are given specific leadership roles in which they support not only the classroom systems but also our school wide systems. They help keep our school running smoothly. From daily greeters to library leaders the kids are invested in our school as well!
Highlands Leader Of The Pack
Every Friday at least one student from every class is featured for their unique leadership skills on our HLN News Network. They have their photo taken and displayed in the hall for the entire school to see! They also get to hold a trophy at their desk for the entire week until another Leader Of The Pack is selected.
Student Lighthouse Team
The Student Lighthouse team is a group of student who help support our School's Leader In Me Leadership principles. They get to help decide on major school decisions that perhaps adult might choose for them. They provide school tours for new students and for any new visitor we may have. They present leadership lesson that help educate parents and students on The 7 Habits Of Happy Kids.

Student Patrol
Fifth graders have the opportunity to help keep our hallways safe and orderly before and after school. They earn how to lead with positive attitudes and to set the right example for fellow students.
The Husky Depot
The Husky Depot is our school store that is run FOR kids BY kids. Students can purchase cool and unique school supplies. All proceeds go to school events and celebrations!
Literacy Leaders
Our very own Highlands book club integrates engaging literacy activities within weekly and monthly book studies. They also work to help promote Sunshine State Reading as well as new titles featured at our school Book Fairs.
